Redcotts Recreation Ground

Redcotts Recreation Ground is used by local football teams which hire pitches in the ground, Wimborne Tennis Club, and Wimborne Bowls Club. It also has a children’s play area, a petanque pitch, a basketball area and a half pipe skateboard ramp  as well as a football kick-about area and table tennis table.

Wimborne Minster Tennis Club has three floodlit hard courts and four grass courts in the summer. All courts are available for the public to use on a pay and play basis without having to join the tennis club.

Outdoor Exercise Policy

Wimborne Minster Town Council permits outdoor exercise classes to take place on any of the Town Council’s land that facilitate exercise, recreation and wellbeing to the residents and visitors to the town.

Commercial providers wishing to run outdoor exercise classes will require permission to operate on any of the Council’s land.

Before permission is granted outdoor exercise providers will need to produce certain documents to the Council. Once provided, Council will consider the request.

CCTV is operational at Redcott’s Recreation Ground

Once we are aware of any incident or damage on Redcott’s Recreation Ground, the CCTV recordings are reviewed by the Police for investigation and action as appropriate.

The CCTV recordings are encrypted and securely stored; recordings are not routinely monitored and not used for covert monitoring; recordings and images cannot be publicly published to aid identification.

Redcotts Recreation Ground CCTV system and its operation is intended to provide a safe and secure environment for the benefit of those who use the Recreation Ground and its facilities. The system will not be used to invade the privacy of any individual, except when carried out in accordance with the law.

The system is used; to: reduce the fear of crime, harm, and harassment for all persons using the Recreation Ground; to reduce occurrences of damage and vandalism of property and to prevent, deter and detect crime and disorder; and to assist the Town Council, the Police, and other Law Enforcement Agencies with identification, detection, apprehension and prosecution of offenders by examining and using retrievable evidence relating to crime, public order or contravention of bye-laws.
