I was first elected to the town council in 1979. I was Mayor in 1986 and left the council in 1999. After a rest from council matters I feel I still have much to give the town, in time and local knowledge.

My husband, my children and I, have lived in the town for over 40 years. Our children attended the local schools and I still work in the town.

One of the issues I feel very strongly about is the proposed housing on Leigh Park. We need green space. 187 dwellings are to be built on the site in Brook Road, so more than ever, this open area needs to be preserved. Yes, we need affordable housing – but not at the expense of a playing field.

 

West Borough / Stone Lane juction needs a pedestrian controlled crossing for children going to school and for patients attending Walford Surgery.

I will work for the people who make this town. I am non political and believe that politics should not come into Town Council.
