Wimborne Minster shone brightly on Saturday, 30th November, as the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On event delighted residents and visitors alike. A joyful crowd gathered in the heart of the town to witness the magical moment when the festive lights illuminated the town, marking the start of the Christmas season.

The switch-on was a special occasion, led by the Town Mayor, Cllr Jeff Hart who was joined by a wonderful team of community representatives. The Mayor’s Scout Madeleine Morris, school poster competition winners Jemima Cripps and Alice Graham, and three-year-old Finley Wasiak shared the honour of lighting up Wimborne Minster. Together, they created a heartwarming and inclusive ceremony that will be fondly remembered by all.

The event brought the community together in the true spirit of the season, with the square bustling with festive cheer, music, and laughter. The glowing lights and decorations now beautifully adorn the town, inviting everyone to share in the magic of Christmas.

Wimborne Minster Town Council would like to thank everyone involved in making this event a success, including the dedicated volunteers, performers, and attendees whose support and participation created a truly memorable celebration.
