Christmas Light Switch on – Saturday 30th November 2024
Wimborne Minster Town Council is thrilled to announce the winners of the Children’s Poster Competition, held to promote the Christmas Lights Switch-On Event on November 30th, 2024. We extend our warm congratulations to Jemima Cripps from Allenbourn Middle School, winner of the KS2 category, and Alice from St. John’s First School, winner of the KS1 category. Thank you to everyone who participated—the quality of all entries was outstanding!

This year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On Event is set for Saturday, 30th November, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the Town Square. The festivities will culminate with the Militia firing their muskets on the Minster Green at approximately 5:00 PM.
In addition, a festive Christmas Market will take place in the High Street Car Park, offering a variety of trading stalls, live music, and a selection of mobile eateries.
